The bridleway then follows the top of the Stone farm Rocks which is a popular climbing spot with good views back towards Weirwood further along the bridleway you go through Kingscote vinyard and then turn into Gravetye woods to follow a permissive bridleway through to Sharpthone. This is a conservation area and cyclists are requested to stay on the permissive bridleway and not venture into the woodland.
The track through the woods is on a gravel surface forestry track is a . There is one quite steep climb up into Hastings wood. After exiting the woods you turn right onto a road by the site of the old Sharpthorne station and you may be lucky enough to see a Bluebell Railway steam train entering or exiting the tunnel. When you reach the road at the top of the hill turn left for about a kilometre then turn right and follow the lane for about 2km before turning left, after a few hundred yards the next bridleway is on the right. When the road is reached turn left and go through a ford before turning right onto a bridleway. This is gravel for the first few hundred metres but then becomes a bit rutted and poached at the top and it can get very muddy when wet. Alternatively turn right and follow trhe lane uphill to the first junction and turn sharp left and follow the lane until the offroad route joins from the left by the entrance to Twyford lodge.
