Wolstonbury Hill

Having been very lax in getting walks this year it was decided that a plod was in order. Steve M suggested that Wolstonbury hill looked suitable and was in an area that we have visited before near Jack & Jill Windmills.
WE managed to leave SLBH promptly at 16:30 and so having parked the cars in the car park of the Jack & Jill Inn  we were walking by 17:15. A quick look at the house on top of the tunnel portal and then along the tracks below Wolstonbury Hill with an ascent by the NE ridge.

DT spotted a windmill in the far distance and a discussion ensued. We then moved S towards Pycombe and crossed the Hassocks road and through the golf course. Just past the golf course a sheep was found in a field of corn so an attempt was made to herd the sheep back through a gate, that we unhinged, to join it's friends. However being a sheep it did not do the obvious and started gettng agitated and so we put the gate back and left it. Soon we were onto the North Downs way and passing the windmills followed by a descent via the N face into Clayton. At the pub carpark I discovered that I had taken my house keys with me but locked the car keys in the car. A grovelling phone call to Caroline resulted in her driving out to meet us, just time right for a couple of rounds!
